Icemat 2nd Edition
Introduction:
The Icemat 2nd Edition is not only stunning in looks, but performance. I traded in my previous mouse pad for the past week to fully test out the Icemat 2nd Edition and was surprised with my results. It performed very well, but was a little lackluster is some aspects; such as comfort. Overall it's a great pad, but it isn't for everyone. Read on for the whole review.
Specifications:
Dimensions: 250 x 300 mm / 10 x 12 inches
Doesn't bend or loose shape
Solid and steady
Packaging:
To say the least the box looks stunning. It is a fold top with tabs at the front. The box features the mousing surface on all sides of the box with views of the multiple aspects of the mousing surface on the back. Why stress over the box? Well, the box is a crucial deterrent to whether the end consumer will decide to purchase the product or not. If the packaging of the product is cheap and not stylish; what would you think about the product? Overall the packaging showcases the product, has displayed features, and looks great.
The packaging also provides a Styrofoam home for the Icemat 2nd Edition. It has an upper and lower layer of Styrofoam that supports the IceMat during transport. This also prevents any scratching, wear, or any type of damage during shipping or any type of transport; ie lan parties.

Views of the top and bottom of the mousing surface show that on the top is a very slick surface with a black background and an IceMat logo in the bottom righthand corner. The surface is very smooth and has almost no resistence when combined with teflon feet on your mouse. The bottom is comprised of the alternate side of the black background which is shiny, and reflective. The bottom is comprised of six feet that anchor the pad to the surface your working on. In all my tests there wasnt a slight inclination of slippage from my work surface; the Icemat 2nd Edition heldfast.
User Experience:

The combo of the Icemat 2nd Edition and my Razer Diamondback Plasma LE was a dream. The Razer Diamondback LE flew across to smooth surface of the Icemat 2nd Edition. The mousing surface had almost no resistance with the mouse and the precision was excellent. I played BattleField 2 for a few hours and was uncomfortable with the experience. The mouse performed very well but after about thirty minutes my wrist hurt from no cushion. Compared to my other mouse pad the surface has no give; which in some cases is good, and others bad. The glass surface proved to be an uncomfortable surface to play on for extended periods of time. Compared to my XtracPads Hybrid the experience of the Icemat 2nd Edition was good at best. The comfort was a big issue and I couldn't see myself using this mousing surface for extended periods of time. I guess if style and performance is your thing this mousing surface is for you, but if comfort is your thing this isn't for you. Also I would like to note that comfort is a subjective response. Meaning it could be comfortable for some people, but not me. Aside from comfort when using the Icemat is makes a distinct sliding sound. You can hear every movement of your mouse. This bugs me a little even though it isn't that noticeable.
Final Thoughts:
The Icemat 2nd edition proved to be a nice looking mousing surface, but not the most comfortable. The price is also an issue... If you want to add some style to your desk then I would recommend this to you. But if you want to have a great mouse pad with comfort, support, and overall greatness I wouldn't suggest this to you. I wasn't disappointed with performance of this product, but with having an adequate mousing surface.
Pros:
Looks Fantastic
Performs very well compared to other mousing surfaces
Sturdy surface
Adds sex appeal to your desk
Cons:
Uncomfortable after extended use
Makes sound every movement of your mouse
Due to a lackluster experience with the Icemat 2nd Edition I give the Icemat 2nd Edition a satisfactory 7.5/10
